Get Spooky Chic with This Halloween Tablescape

Put a Spell on Your Guests.

Halloween hasn't always been a big dinner party occasion for me. I'm used to the college-y celebrations where we throw back sticky Jello shots and dress like sexy kitties, sexy Home Depot employees, sexy mayonnaise jars, sexy tax returns, sexy whatevers. Well except for me. I'm usually the one dressed like something completely not even remotely racy while surrounded by hot babes in corsets. See below for the tragic evidence.

How sorry do you feel for 21-year-old me? At least I wore heels.

How sorry do you feel for 21-year-old me? At least I wore heels.

But as I've gotten older, the black light lit bars covered in cobwebs with specials on "magic potions" made out of well vodka have lost their once glittering appeal. Now I'm more about staying in with good food, good people, and some witch's brew.

I added a touches to the Cloth + Gold Caviar Dreams Tablescape to create a Halloween tablescape that's more spooky chic than full-blown Carrie Screamed During Her Nightmare on Elm Street After Her Exorcism. The colors of the tablescape already lend themselves to the season so I only had to add a few things.

Recreate it

  • Tablescape items: If you're in Denver or Boulder you can rent it here. And right now you can get it for 20% off using the code LAUNCH2017. Woohooooo!
  • Flowers: I lucked out and loved Trader Joe's seasonal bouquets. I'm usually a DIY-er when it comes to flowers but these had a good mix of traditionally fall florals with hints of brighter colors which is exactly what I was looking for. And they're super affordable, ranging from $3.99-$9.99 per bouquet depending on the size. I got two of the $9.99 options and an extra bouquet of sunflowers in case I needed more but I only ended up needing to add one to each arrangement.
  • Purple taper candles: These candles are such a good Halloween color, slightly bright but dark enough for the holiday. You can buy them here. Black candles are also a great option if you want a more muted look for the table. You can buy these in black here.
  • Glitter dipped pumpkins: These are from last year and aren't available anymore but here are some other options: Copper Glitter Dipped Pumpkins, Green Beaded Pumpkins, Orange Glitter Pumpkins, Silver Glitter Dipped Pumpkins.

Party Playlist

I've been kind of obsessed with the Cloth + Gold "Get Spooky" Spotify playlist.
